Candidates completing HSL training’s Gate Installer Diploma course, will now also be awarded the Door & Hardware Federation, 1 day Automated Gate Safety Certificate.

Jonathan Aldred, director of HSL training, said “the cooperation of the DHF, within the GID course framework, means our candidates will not only benefit from the practical skills covered during our intense 5 day course, but will also be awarded this widely recognised certificate, by the Door & Hardware Federation.”

The DHF course aims to teach Gate Installer Diploma candidates, how to use the appropriate parts of the relevant Technical Specification (DHF TS 011:2018), and gain a greater understanding of the safety standards affecting the safety of new installations, maintenance and repair of automated gates & traffic barriers.

Jonathan, who himself completed the DHF 2-day Automated Gate Safety Diploma in 2017, added, ” by understanding the requirements and responsibilities associated with gate automation, and then by applying this knowledge practically, our candidates are better armed to install, repair and maintain automatic gate systems. This ultimately will result in safer automatic gates.”

The first GID course to incorporate the DHF certificate, is scheduled to take place at Ellard Ltd, in Wythenshawe, Manchester at the end of February 2019.

Mr Aldred concluded, “The Gate Installer Diploma, now incorporates Health and safety, risk assessments, method statements, manual handling, use of power tools, British Standard MMA welding and inspection of welds, electrical safety and isolation, electrical testing and certification, wiring, fault finding, multi brand control system familiarisation, gate safety and legislation as well as real, practical gate automation installation.”

“This makes the Gate Installer Diploma course the most comprehensive available in the UK to date”.

The inclusion of the DHF certificate to the Gate Installer Diploma course is at no additional cost.
