Where force limitation is the primary means of safety, some form of objective force testing will be required to ensure the final product as delivered is within safe limits, and to subsequently check the system remains safe.

This will require specific competencies, and suitable record keeping. This course explains these requirements and:

  • Crush & Impact Hazard Identification
  • Force Limitation Types
  • Force Test Locations
  • Force Measurement Devices
  • Understanding Force Test Measurements
  • Liability & Legal Requirements
  • Applicable Safety Standards

The first section of this detailed course is a classroom presentation, followed by practical force testing, so access to a suitable room for the first section and access to a door, gate or barrier with force limitation safety for the second section is required. The course can be at your own premises, on site or at the HSL Training centre in Burton on Trent. Candidates are encouraged to bring along their own force testers, but these are provided where required. The course duration is ½ day and can be combined with other ½ day courses offered.
