Welding For Automatic Gates and Doors

There is a prerequisite that people attending the course have a basic knowledge of welding activities.  They should be able to produce a weld to a minimum of standards to be able to reach the expected standards by the end of the course.

  • Welding Health & Safety
  • Welding Terminology
  • Identifying weld defects and their causes
  • Using and setting up the welding equipment
  • Identifying the correct consumables
  • Joint set up and preparation
  • Producing welded fillet joints in the PB & PF positions
  • Producing welded butt joints in the PA & PF positions
  • Inspecting the final weld

Produce 2 welded joints (Fillet & Butt) in the PF position that must comply with the BS4872 criteria

                0800 – 0930 – Introduction to the course

                0930 – 1030 – Setting up the machines

                1030 – 1050 – Break

                1050 – 1300 – Welding Practice

                1300 – 1345 – Lunch

                1345 – 1510 – Welding Practice

                1510 – 1530 – Break

                1530 – 1630 – Weld Assessment

 

Day 2                    3 MMA & 3 MAG

                0800 – 0830 – Review the previous day

                0830 – 1030 – Welding Practice

                1030 – 1050 – Break

                1050 – 1300 – Welding Practice

                1300 – 1345 – Lunch

                1345 – 1510 – Welding Practice

                1510 – 1530 – Break

                1530 – 1630 – Weld Assessment
